As a professional tutor, I work with a passion for education and teaching, I am enthusiastic and committed to my students and their needs so they can indeed succeed in a friendly learning environment.

I provide:
- One-to-one focus to address your child's unique ways to learn so he/she can attain the expected level of attainment.
- Thorough knowledge of the requirements for each specific test.
- Experience which cements the child's knowledge acquired at school, as well as covers subjects and exam techniques not taught in school by the end of Year 5, thus filling in the possible gaps in his/her knowledge.
- Consultation about grammar and independent schools in the area.

I have been teaching since 1990, giving me thirty plus years of teaching experience in the UK and overseas; teaching children and young people and adults from Nursery to GCSE and beyond.  I currently work in SEN but I also tutor for: confidence building, gap filling, entrance-exam taking as well as for catch-up. In terms of students meeting their goals my success rate is high and students are prepared for their next step - whatever that is.

Case Studies from 2020-21

*Child A - started with me at 6, he lacked a bit of confidence but was ahead academically and by Year 6 he was The Head Boy and in the 11 plus entrance exams he passed all with flying colours, gaining the choice of four FULL scholarships for Alleyn's, Dulwich College, St Dunstan's and City of London.

*Child B - started in year 5 and although doing very well in her class was not ahead and needed some targeted teaching around reasoning/test practice and maths gaps to be ready for the 11 plus exam. She passed with flying colours and is doing very well at  St Dunstan's. Her younger sister then had tuition and even though she was behind in comparison to elder sibling  she worked hard and passed the entrance test to join her sister at St Dunstan's.

*Child C - Had Dyslexia and I worked with him for a year around exam preparation - He passed the St Dunstan's Entrance Exam and is in Year 7.

*Child D - Had ADHD and I worked with him to prepare for SATs in Year 6 and as prep for Year 7. He is now doing well in Year 7.

*Child E - passed his 9 plus for Dulwich Prep after only ten weeks of tuition!

*Child F - Got into Sydenham High after a term's tuition.

*Child F/Child G - These sibings had spent two years in the USA and had needed to catch up. The younger sibling is flying in Year 7 as is the older sibling in Year 9 (after some additional input)

Child H - After a year's tuition she got offered places in both St Dunstan's and JAGS and is now at JAGS
